It's time to vote! Each September, Enlightium launches Student Social Week, where you can learn more about each social opportunity available to your students and register for one (or opt-out). This year, we are launching a new social opportunity chosen by Enlightium families! Learn more about each of the options below, discuss them as a family, and vote for the one you want to see launched this year! Voting closes on Sunday, July 30 at 11:59 pm PT. Model UN Grades: 9-12 Tentatively led by Ms. Benedict, Mr. Mead, Mrs. Heyer, Ms. Bullock This club aims to create an engaging and interactive Model United Nations (UN) environment. Students of all ages will experience the art of diplomacy, debate global issues, and develop essential skills for effective communication and critical thinking. Our club coordinators will guide students through the specifics of diplomacy and parliamentary procedures, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the Model UN process. Let your voice be heard, expand your horizons, and make a difference as a member of the Model UN Club! Running Club Tentatively led by Mr. Robertson and Mr. Brooks Grades: PreK-12 This non-competitive club is designed for students of all ages to track and celebrate their progress online. Whether they choose to run in their neighborhood, at a local park, or even on a treadmill at home, students can track, monitor, and hold themselves accountable through their own personal running goals. Our Running Club coordinators will be responsible for answering questions, providing guidance, and offering virtual support and encouragement whenever needed. Students in grades 3-8 can also track their hours for their offline PE elective. Writing Club Grades: 3-12 Tentatively led by Mrs. Chun, Mr. Malacki, and Ms. Lee This club will allow students to join their fellow classmates in a creative environment where they can discover the joys of writing. Students will be guided by our coordinators through a series of writing exercises, peer review, and personalized feedback. Club members will gain an understanding of the draft, editing, design, and publication process. Students will feel empowered in creating meaningful stories, and at the end of the school year, their work may be published in an anthology.
