Today we went to Nazareth, where Jesus grew up. We walked around the Church of the Annunciation and saw the place where the angel told Mary she was highly favored, and we prayed to have obedience and faith like Mary, and to hear when God speaks to us. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) We also saw the Church of St Joseph, built on the place where Joseph had his workshop and taught Jesus carpentry. We saw the archaeological dig of the ancient city beneath the two churches. Both churches had beautiful mosaics, but our favorite was the one under St Joseph’s that showed Jesus at home with his parents. “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” (Luke 2:52) Jesus was a real person, He walked this earth, He had a family, He had friends, and Nazareth is where they all lived. So grateful that God has allowed us to make this journey, for God’s plans for us and the faith that was built during our struggle to get here, and for the faith that continues to build as we see these historic and spiritual places. ❤️
